​IT Band Syndrome


The most common reported symptom of IT band issues is pain/tightness on the outside of the knee while some cases result in pain/tightness along the outside of the leg and upwards in the hip area. A twinge or "snapping" sensation may also accompany pain/discomfort on outside of the knee.


Overpronation(Not having proper support in shoe)

Overuse/Sudden increase in mileage and training

Running on banked surfaces

Lack of flexibility

Weak hip and quadricep muscles


Having the proper amount of support in shoe

Improve flexibility in IT band(foam roller, stretching) as well as the calf, hamstrings, and quadriceps

Avoid running on banked surfaces

Improve strength in quadricep and hip/glute muscles
