Runner's Knee(Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome)


Common symptoms include pain under and around the kneecap especially while running downhill, walking downstairs, and squatting or lunging. Severe cases may cause the feeling of grinding cartilage. 


Improper footwear(Old shoes or not adequate cushioning in shoe)


Direct Trauma

Misalignment/Improper tracking of Patella

Weak/Tight Quadriceps and Hamstrings


Having the proper amount of support/cushioning in a running shoe

Quadricep/Hamstring strengthening and flexibility exercises

Avoid running downhill until symptoms subside
